- Book through apps Most venues use Playtomic, their own app or an online booking page.
How do you find a padel court near you?
Start with your county. Most venues take online bookings through an app such as Playtomic or the venue's own booking page, so you can see free slots and pay in a few taps.
Courts are booked per hour, or per 90 minutes, and the price is usually for the whole court. Split between four players, an hour of padel typically costs about €7.50 to €13 each.

Kit for your first session
Many venues hire rackets for a few euro, but you will need court shoes, because padel courts are sandy artificial grass. Our padel starter kit covers everything a beginner needs, and our best padel rackets for beginners guide helps when you are ready to buy.
Indoor or outdoor padel: what is the difference?
Indoor courts let you play in any weather, all year round. They cost a little more and get booked up fastest on weekday evenings.
Outdoor courts are often at tennis clubs, hotels and leisure centres. They can be cheaper and easier to book, but rain stops play. Some venues also have covered courts, with a roof but open sides.

What should you bring to your first game?
Wherever you play, two things make the biggest difference: a forgiving racket and shoes that grip sandy turf. These are the two we would buy first.
Round, soft and easy to control
If you are heading to your first session, the Optix V1 is the racket we would start with. The round head and low balance make it easy to control, and the soft foam core is kind on the arm.
| Shape | Round |
| Weight | About 360 g |
| Balance | Low (265 mm) |
| Core | Low-density foam |
| Face | Fibreglass |
| Suits | Complete beginners |
- Very forgiving
- Soft, comfortable feel
- Limited power on smashes
- Basic for improving players
Proper padel grip at an entry price
Sandy turf courts need a padel or clay sole. The Courtquick’s Adiwear tread is made for padel, and the Bounce midsole is comfortable from the first wear.
| Outsole | Adiwear rubber, multi-directional |
| Cushioning | Bounce midsole, Cloudfoam |
| Weight | About 363 g (men's US 10.5) |
| Suits | Beginners and social players |
- Real padel grip for less
- Comfortable straight away
- Less cushioning for long sessions
- Sole wears faster with heavy use
